In 2008, Inglis commissioned SMG to create a new look website, one that would have the versatility to provide live TV of its sales, allow users to load images and videos of bloodstock to be sold, and provide potential buyers with all the information they required as they researched the next big Inglis sale. SMG's racing editors provided great insight into the future structure of the website and direction of its content. The new Inglis website has brought the company to the forefront of digital technology—it copes very well on high-volume sales days, with up to 40,000 active users at any time, sources data from a number of third parties in order to create the sale-day catalogue, and streams a live video feed of the sale with the option to select different camera views with audio taking users into the highly-charged atmosphere of sale day. The website also allows for online offers, post-sale offers for stock passed in, as well as a sophisticated and confidential financial service for clients.
